Chagdud Gonpa Dordje Ling offers teachings and meditation practices of the Nyingma Tibetan Buddhist tradition in the southern Brazilian city of Curitiba, in the State of Parana. –our center is part of Chagdud Gonpa Brazil, established in 1994 by His Eminence Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche and is part of an international network of Buddhist centers whose origins are Chagdud Gonpa Tibet, a monastery founded in the 15th century.

Chagdud Rinpoche was, and still is, a jewel of the Dharma and a precious source of transmission of the lineage, to the thousands of people whom he taught in North and South America, Asia, Australia and Europe. His mind was vast and clear and capable of showing spontaneous maternal compassion, wrath like a lightning bolt and whatever else was necessary to benefit sentient beings.
Each one of you has accepted a certain level of individual commitment to your Dharma practice. Strengthen it. Each one of you has a connection with a Lama or with a more experienced student that leads the Sangha. Cultivate it. Each one of you remains, because of your fortunate karma and your brilliant choices, connected to the interdependent web of our Sangha. Hold your position as practitioners and support others.

Rinpoche founded, before his Parinirvana, more than 20 Buddhist centers in South America.
The Dorje Ling Temple
Lama Yeshe and Lama Rigdzin have been holding Chagdud Gonpa Dordje Ling in Curitiba for over 15 years. Because of the generosity of their activities, the Vajrayana Buddhist tradition of the Nyingma school – known as the ancient tradition school – has been maintained in Curitiba for the benefit of all beings. Among the practices done at Chagdud Gonpa Dordje Ling, are the Red Tara practice of Apong Terton, which is held every Saturday morning, as well as practices of the Dudjom and Chokling lineages along with various others.
Our temple is located in a rented house downtown and all of the practices, meditations and teachings are realised in a tent in the backyard, maintained for over 10 years by the generosity and contributions of our members and sympathisers.
A temple project together with the wish to benefit all beings
More than 15 years after Chagdud Rinpoche’s Parinirvana,the temple project has been approved – following an immense effort to buy the land, elaborate the project and approve the building while respecting all urban and environmental regulations.
The Chagdud Gonpa Dordje Ling Temple will be built in Curitiba - PR, Brazil, in the traditional Tibetan architectural style.

In his last visit to Curitiba, when asked by his students when he would return, Rinpoche answered:
I will return when you have built a Stupa and a Temple.
